PROJECTS

DC USA is the largest retail development in the District of Columbia. Located in the heart of Columbia Heights, the 890,000 square foot, $145 million complex, which opened in 2008, is widely credited as the cornerstone of the revitalization of Columbia Heights, a dense urban neighborhood that experienced 30 years of neglect after the riots of 1968.
The project is anchored by the District’s first Target—a two-level 180,000-square foot store and features
Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Washington Sports Club, Marshalls and Staples as well as space for small businesses and a 1,000 car below-grade parking facility. BLT Architects designed the complex and Development Corporation of Columbia Heights is the community partner.
